    The cat museum is brilliant:

We walk down the hill to a small retain area where we get some apples and ice cream.  With the help of the lady at Pizza Hut we manage to get a taxi to pick us up.  The taxi is a Proton, but the guy has completely upgraded the interior to a HRC Honda boy racer car.

  • Day 13 – Kuching

Basaga is brilliant.  Swimming pool right outside our door, room for the kids, reasonable restaurant.  Service could be better, but it’s all done with a smile.

We sort of skip proper breakfast and go straight out in a taxi to the Orang Utan’s.  We swap taxi drivers in town because ours needs to go to sleep.

We take the bus back to town and walk around town a bit:

We walk to the taxi waiting place and bump into the taxi driver who took some people to Permai last week for one of the boat trips.  He recognizes us and we recognize him.  Kuching is a big town but I guess there are not that many taxi’s!

  • Day 12 – Botanical trail and off to Kuching

There is a short botanical trail which we decide to do on our last morning before we fly to Kuching.

We see lots of plants and more variety of lizards than ever before:

Our trusty ATR-72 (the wings didn’t fall off in the missed approach in bad weather) and 3 hours later dinner in Basaga, which is also a popular restaurant and bar destination in Kuching.
