  • Our week of WWII rations – Introduction

    On Saturday we started our WWII rations week.  Our family is only going to eat rations and no sneaky sweets.  Except when we’re at school/work.

    This is what we were allowed for one week as a family of four:

    • Butter: 200g
    • Sugar: 900g
    • Jam: half a jar
    • Bacon & Ham: 400g
    •  Meat: 2160g
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 pack of dried eggs(12 eggs)
    • Milk: 13pts
    • Tea: 100g
    • Sweets: 360g
    • Lard: 200g
    • 24 points (2 cans and 500g of oats)
    • Any fruit and veg from the garden

  • Day 15 – Kuching and back to Singapore

    We received some vouchers from Silkair and converted these to pizza, beer, coke, crisps and other healthy foods:

  • Day 14 – Kuching cat museum

    We walk down the hill to a small retain area where we get some apples and ice cream.  With the help of the lady at Pizza Hut we manage to get a taxi to pick us up.  The taxi is a Proton, but the guy has completely upgraded the interior to a HRC Honda boy racer car.
